“Knitty” Competition

Hi

I’ve just come across this competition that Knitty is running and I thought my readers might be interested.

All you have to do is leave a comment on their blog to be in with the chance of winning a copy of The Knitters Curiosity Cabinet :

Casting on

Hi there  🙂
I’ve just been casting on for my new project. Its my favourite part which is probably why I have so many WIPs. Its a bit like starting a new exercise book at school on your first day back in September…I love it!
My new project is a cabled cardigan in Sirdar Bonus Aran

I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

Have a good evening

Sirdar Bonus Aran at Wightcat Wools

Hi there 🙂

We are loving Sirdar Bonus Aran at the moment. Its great value for money (we sell it at only £7.99 for 400g) and they have just brought out some great new patterns in leaflet form which means that you can knit yourself something from just £10.79 (1 ball of yarn plus pattern)

I can’t decide what my favourite colour is…its such a hard decision! Which is your favourite colour?

And the patterns are right on trend this season, and very wearable.

We are re-designing our website at the moment and putting the yarn on the same page as the patterns so it will be even easier to shop at Wightcat Wools. And of course, if you are local, why not pop into the shop?

Innocence Big Knit Campaign

Have you heard about the Innocent Big Knit Campaign 2012?

Wightcat Wools is proud to support the Innocent Big Knit. Its  a great opportunity to put our knitty talents to good use.

How it works:

Knitters from across the land send us their hats between now and 1st October, and then we put them onto our bottles by hand and send them off to store. They’re available to buy in Sainsbury’s stores for three weeks from the 21st November, and for every hatted bottle sold, 25p is donated to Age UK.

Over the years we’ve been sent loads of weird and wonderful hats from all over the world.

All of the money raised through the hats knitted by local Age UK/Age Concerns centres goes directly back to allow them to continue providing support to older people in their local community.

and if you need any wool to knit these little hats, have a look at our website http://www.wightcatwools.com We have a huge selection of Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK
